Important Terms and Conditions
Kukummi Lodge is on a “Farm Road”, concrete strips and dirt. Cars with a HIGH ground clearance are recommended. The Lodge is about 3km from the R600 main road.
For those without high clearnance vehicle, we offer a free shuttle to/from a secure parking location on the R600. Shuttles have limited places and leave from the Lodge at 06h30 and 08h30 every morning and from the R600 at 16h00 every afternoon. Subject to availability paid for shuttles can be arranged at other times.
The room key will be in the back of your door when you arrive. You are provided with a remote gate control in order to access the property during your stay.
Check in is 14h00 to 18h00.
Check out time is before 10h00.
Early check in is subject to availability, but guests are always welcome to arrive before 14h00 and settle in the communal areas until their room is ready.
Please email or text us with your estimated time of arrival at least 2 days before arrival.
Breakfast is served between 07h30 and 09h00 daily.
Lunch is available by prior arrangement, packed or served
Dinner is usually served at 19h00.
An Honesty Bar of snacks and drinks is located in the dining room of the Lodge. Please mark off what you have taken on the forms provided. Your bar bill will be added to your account and must be paid before departure.
Room servicing and fresh towels are available on request. Please ask our staff at breakfast.
Laundry service is avilable, at an additional charge. Hand it in before 09h00 and it will be returned either on the same day or the next day depending on the weather. If you require a clothes drying rack, please ask our staff.
Hospitality trays including tea and coffee facilities are provided in yourroom. If you require a top up, please ask the staff or take from the dining room coffee station area.
Amenities, by La Diosa, including shampoo, body wash, and hand lotion are provided in your room.
Hair dryers are available in your room for your personal use.
Two hot water bottles are available in the cupboards of each room.
Radiators are available in your room during winter months. They are timed to go on in the morning and evening, please let staff know if you’d like these times adjusted.
Fans are available in each room.
There is no fridge in your room. There is a guest fridge in the dining area of the Lodge for storing food items. In order not to encourage the wildlife to enter your room, it is better to store all your food here.
Free high speed WiFi is available in the Lodge and you rooms. There is no password.
Adaptors, are available - pleases advise if you’d like to take these home with you and we can add to your bill.
Smoking is not permitted in the Reserve, rooms or the lodge. You may smoke on the outside patios, but please be mindful of other guests and use the ash trays provided.
Your room and the Lodge are equipped with internet-enabled Televisions, including Netflix.
Power outages owing to ‘load shedding’ and to storm damage are frequent. Out of respect for the Nature Reserve we do not run a generator, however we cook with gas, have over 5 hours on battery back up on our internet, and have solar powered outside lighting and lanterns for your rooms, so your enjoyment of your stay should not be hindered by such outages.
Garden lights are set on a timer and will go off at 22h30 nightly.
House Rules
No Pets. Registered service animals are allowed.
No visitors without prior consent.
No excess noise at any time. Quiet time is between 22h30 and 07h00
Please inform us of any breakages or necessary room repairs timeously
We do not take responsibility for any lost property. If any items are left behind there will be retained for 3 months only. It is your responsibility to arrange collection.
You are most welcome to tip the staff. The tip jar can be found on the “Honesty Bar” table. It is customary in South Africa to leave a 10 % tip. All tips are shared amongst the housekeeping and ground staff.
We accept Master and Visa cards at the lodge
Standard payment terms and conditions are:
A 50% deposit to secure you booking. Balance is to be paid on site.
If you are booking though an agency the payment will appear on your bank statement as “NightsBridge”.
If you book 15 days before arrival, then the full amount is required to be settled.
You will always get the best rate through us directly, or via our website ‘book now’ tab.
Rates are subject to change without prior notice, please confirm rates before booking.
All deposit refunds will incur a R150.00 fee to reflect the credit card fees that we are unable to recover.
Cancellation Policy:
Forfeit 100% of total if guests cancel 7 days before arrival or after check in
Forfeit 100% of deposit if guests cancel 14 days before arrival
Forfeit 50% of deposit if guests cancel 30 days before arrival
Forfeit 0% of deposit, minus a R150.00 fee to reflect the credit card cancellation fees.
